Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The 2016 Viognier is a balanced wine with ample acidity to offset the broad mouth-coating viscosity. It offers heady aromas of ripe peach, white flowers, and nectarine, coupled with subtle notes of honey, apricot, and citrus notes.
Winemaker's Notes
Our Viognier is typically only grown at our two estate vineyards, however, in 2016 we sourced half of the grapes from two new sites for us in El Dorado. The Flat Creek Vineyard brings intense aromatics while the Noriega Vineyard provides fresh natural acidity from this cooler site. The wine sees native yeast fermentation and is aged on its gross lees for about 9 months before being bottled in May.
