Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
2013 is similar to 2012 in that Grenache Blanc has taken center stage in the blend. It is a not as rich on the mid-palate as the 2012, and is brighter and fresher on the finish. The wine is dominated by white flowers, fresh herbs and citrus aromas with subtle notes of sweet spice, tropical fruits, and hazelnut notes.
Winemaker's Notes
We start out with several lots, some co-fermented, while most varietals are kept separate. We ferment in a combination of stainless steel barrels and French oak (mostly neutral). The wine rests on its gross lees until being blended together at bottling after 11 months in barrel. The resulting wine has been unfined, unfiltered, and unstabilized thus it is common for some sediment and even some tartrates (crystals) at the bottom if the wine is chilled below 40 degrees or so.
